Komponist; Leiter des Komponistenforums Mittersill. Ausbildung an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien
Universität Wien, der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien und der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst „Mozarteum“ Salzburg. Studien- und Arbeitsaufenthalte u.a. in Berlin, Paris und New York. Zahlreiche Stipendien und Preise. Zahlreiche Aufführungen und Konzerte. Die Werkliste umfasst Orchester-, Vokal- und Kammermusik, Musik für Soloinstrumente, elektronische Musik, Klanginstallationen, Raum, Bewegung und Theater bezogene Arbeiten. Wolfgang Seierl lebt und arbeitet in Salzburg und Wien.

Peter Rantasa/Geschäftsführer music austria

Peter Rantasa, born in 1964 in Vienna/Austria, Executive Director of mica – music austria, is member of the Executive Board of UNESCO’s International Music Council (IMC).  He acts as Lecturer on Culture Management & Studies at Vienna University for Music, founded/curated music festivals, designed/coordinated EU funded projects. As sound artist he created award winning performances for international festivals, Rantasa acts frequently as jury member in the cultural domain.

David Jennings/DJ Alchemi Ltd

David Jennings is Director of DJ Alchemi Ltd and author of "Net, Blogs and Rock 'n' Roll". David is an independent consultant specialising in online learning and discovery. His clients have included learndirect, the Trades Union Congress and the British Standards Institute. He has written on music and technology for specialist and generalist press in the UK, and advised the (now defunct) National Centre for Popular Music.  He has also created online reference resources for communities of music fans, including the wiki site for the cult album, '69 Love Songs'.
Before setting up his own business twelve years ago, he was a Principal Psychologist in what is now the Department for Education and Skills in the UK Government.  David is registered as a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and is a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT).
He was chair of the British Human-Computer Interaction Group from 1995-97, and a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Interacting with Computers for ten years. David has held board positions in arts charities and technology companies, including Wired Workplace Ltd, which he co-founded. He holds degrees from the
Universities of Cambridge, Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam.

Moritz Sauer/Phlow Magazin

Moritz "mo." Sauer is a journalist, webdesigner, book author and music lover. As a freelancer he publishes his portraits, interviews and articles in magazines like c’t, Internet Intern, De:Bug or Intro. In january 2006 his book „Websites für Musiker, DJs und Netlabels“ was released by the well-known publishing company O’Reilly which released his second book about weblogs, podcasting and online journalism in january 2007.
In the first instance mo. prefers to write together with his friends for his own magazine www.phlow.net. Phlow is the leading german magazine which supports the global netlabel phenomenon and publishes interviews, portraits and reviews by its protagonists. To give newcomers a better overview mo. initiated the Netlabel Catalogue, a netlabel-directory powered by the open source Wiki-CMS Mediawiki. If the web-addict doesn’t surf the web, he enjoys meeting friends, talking to interesting people, lying in the warm sun or dancing all night long. Michele Amar-Ouimet/IODA

Michele Amar-Ouimet is currently the Director of International Content Acquisition at IODA. She is also an International Export Specialist, and the former Director of the European Music Office in New York. Her work as an independent consultant focuses in business development and international label export/distribution. Previously, she was the Director of International at Putumayo World Music, where she developed its distribution network in over 70 countries. Prior to that, she founded an independent record label established in New York City, worked as a producer/engineer in Europe and the U.S, and has contributed to numerous recordings and commercials as performer and composer.

Peter James/VUT

Peter James ist Gründer des Verbandes unabhängiger Tonträgerunternehmen e.V. (VUT). 2002 bis 2004 geschäftsführender Vorstand des VUT. Initiator, Gründer der GermanSounds AG - Das Deutsche Musikexportbüro. Lebt und arbeitet seit 2004 in Berlin.

Steve Mayall/Music Ally

Music Ally is the leading digital music business research consultancy. It has been providing publications, consulting, research and events to the music and technology industries since 2001.
Steve Mayall is MusicAlly’s mobile expert. He has previously worked as a senior analyst for the Informa Telecoms and Media group focusing on the global mobile media market, where he co-authored the last three annual executive reports on mobile music. Prior to that he worked in business development for the Somethin’ Else group where he was involved in developing Europe’s first ever music service over early WAP phones, and also worked at the MCPS PRS Alliance as one of the team providing intelligence on digital music at the end of the nineties.

Paul Stepan/Erasmus University Rotterdam
Paul Stepan is guest researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam where he worked as an assistant for the past four years (2003-2007). He is a founding member and member of the board of the Austrian Society for Cultural Economics and Policy Studies (FOKUS) and associate of the International Centre for Culture and Management (ICCM). He has worked in the field of economics of copyright, focusing on the relation between subsidies and intellectual property rights and cultural economics in the past ten years.
Teresa Malango/Vice President, Music Licensing and Business Partnerships Magnatune.com

Teresa Malango is Vice President of Music Licensing and Business Partnerships for Magnatune (www.magnatune.com) an artist-friendly independent online record label that sells and licenses its music for personal, commercial and non-commercial use.
Teresa has an extensive background in theater, video, and film production. For a number of years she ran prestigious public lectureship programs at the University of California, Berkeley presenting eminent scholars and dignitaries from diverse fields, including Nobel Laureates and international political leaders.
Among filmmakers and other creative professionals, the Magnatune site is known for its ability to generate customized, on-demand music licenses for any song in the catalog.  Currently, Teresa oversees music licensing and business partnerships for Magnatune working with clients like 20th Century Fox, Lonelygirl15, Harley-Davidson, Gearhead Pictures, and Linden Research, creators of the online society Second Life.

Alexander Hacke/Einstürzende Neubauten

Seine frühen Titel "Das Leben ist schön" und "Hiroshima", die er im Alter von 15 beziehungsweise 16 Jahren schrieb und veröffentlichte, brachten ihm den Ruf eines Wunderkindes der damaligen Berliner Underground-Szene ein. Ursprünglich von der Industrial Music des musikalischen Underground herkommend integrierte Hacke in den 80er Jahren zunächst Elemente des Punk und der Neuen Deutschen Welle in seine Musik, bevor er sich später in den verschiedensten Stilrichtungen erfolgreich versuchte, sowohl innerhalb der Einstürzenden Neubauten als auch bei seinen Aktivitäten außerhalb dieser Band, der er seit 1980 stets treu blieb.
Alexander Hacke arbeitet heute neben Einstürzende Neubauten als Film und Theatermusik Komponist (ua mit Fatih Akin in "Gegen die Wand" mit Leander Hausmann bei "Sonnenallee", und mit Achim Bornhak bei Das Wilde Leben - die Biographie von Ushi Obermaeier" ;und war Hauptdarsteller in Fatih Akins Film "Crossing the Bridge -The Sound of Istanbul".
Bei seinen sehr unterschiedlichen Soloprojekten verbindet er mit großem Interesse neue elektronische Technologienmit traditionellen Instrumenten. Zuletzt mit der Englischen Band "The Tiger Lillies" bei einer Lovecraft Inszenierung und am 1. & 2. Dezember 2007 zusammen mit der K?nstlerin Danielle de Picciotto bei eine neuen, eigenen audio / visuelle Inszenierung "Das Narrenschiff" im Berlin/Radialsystem, bei der er die mittelalterliche Geschichte mittels u.a. dem "Lemur" vorführt - einem flachen multi 12 Touchscreen - Monitor.

Peter Jenner/Sincere Management & Chairman, IMMF

After gaining a First Class Honours Degree in Economics at Cambridge University, Peter Jenner became a Lecturer at the London School of Economics at the tender age of twenty-one.
His career in academia lasted for four years after which he left to devote his attention to managing an up-and-coming modern music group that had caught his attention. The band's name was The Pink Floyd.
After their time with the Floyd was over, Peter and his business partner Andrew King then put on a series of free concerts in London's Hyde Park which culminated with The Rolling Stones in 1969.
Now, after more than forty years in the music business, the list of clients he has worked with reads like a Who's Who of musical successes. He has managed T Rex (fronted by Marc Bolan), Ian Dury, Roy Harper, The Clash, Robyn Hitchcock, Eddi Reader, Baaba Maal and others.
Peter continues to manage the career of Billy Bragg and in 2006 was the co-author of the well received Music Tank report Beyond the Soundbytes. He is also Chairman of the IMMF, a director of the UK MMF (Music Managers' Forum), and has many other projects on the go.

Mariann Unterluggauer/ORF Ö1
Seit 1994 freie Journalistin. Von 1998 bis 2000 verantworlich für die Produktion der Sendereihe  "Matrix, Computer und neue Medien" auf Ö1.  Derzeit assoziiert mit Ö1 und Deutschlandfunk. Beiträge für El Pais, Springerin, Rai,  Futurezone, ... Arbeitet vor allem  über die Hintergründe und Auswirkungen von (Informations-)technologien und Wissenschaft.

Michael Schmid/BR Klassikportal

Michael Schmidt, geboren in Köln, studierte Klavier, Musikwissenschaft, Philosophie und Geschichte. 1983 Diplomabschluß an der Freiburger Musikhochschule, 1987 Promotion an der Universität Freiburg mit einer Arbeit über „Ekstase als musikalisches Symbol in den Klavierpoemes Alexander Skrjabins“. 1988/89 Volontariat beim Deutschlandfunk in Köln und Hospitanz beim Zweiten Deutschen Fernsehen in Mainz.
1990 Musikredakteur für die Klassikwelle „Bayern 4 Klassik“, 1992 bis 2003 Leiter der Redaktion „Musik aktuell“ und seitdem Koordinator des Klassikportals beim Bayerischen Rundfunk in München. 1998 auch Tätigkeit als Berater beim Aufbau des katholischen Wiener Klassiksenders Radio Stephansdom.
Dozent für multimediale Musikvermittlung am Institut Lernradio der Musikhochschule Karlsruhe und am Institut Multimedia-Musikjournalismus der Musikhochschule München. Außerdem Gastprofessor für „Philosophy of Media Sounds“ an der European Graduate School, dabei Zusammenarbeit mit dem New Yorker Multimedia-Künstler Paul Miller alias DJ-Spooky. Mitglied im Auswahlausschuß der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung und Vorsitzender des Kuratoriums der Georg-von-Vollmar-Akademie.
Veröffentlichungen zu Musik- und Medienthemen. Tätigkeiten als Autor und Moderator für Hörfunk und Fernsehen.

Ruth Towse/Professor of Economics of Creative Industries, Erasmus University Rotterdam

Ruth Towse is Professor of Economics of Creative Industries at Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands and at Bournemouth University UK. She specialises in cultural economics and the economics of copyright. She has published widely on both fields in academic journals and books and has also edited several collections of papers and original contributions, notably A Handbook of Cultural Economics (2003). Her most recent publication (2006) is ‘Copyright and artists: a view from cultural economics’ Journal of Economic Surveys, 20, 4; 567-585.
Ruth Towse was Joint Editor of the Journal of Cultural Economics from 1993-2002 and is now President of the Association for Cultural Economic International. She was President of the Society for Economic Research in Copyright Issues from 2004-6 and was one of the Netherlands national representatives on the European Science Foundation COST A20 programme ‘Impact of the Internet on the Mass Media’, 2001-6.
