Description of Style |
The fact that questioning ways of performing music (concert business) seems timely to me now may result from my basic, disruptive, border-crossing tendency or the simple (political) reaction to the time of the Viennese school of Schönberg, when one knew, as far as I was concerned, precisely what was "relevant". (The fact that now, insiders in the field only do things that are from outside.) I increasingly feel it to be a question of moral and artistic domestic purity, whether someone is concerned with the recycling of endless (subsequently endless) interpretations (by the direction) and through this ultimately lets nothing but commercial recycling occur or not.
And I actually found myself taking on the role of a performer with my "opera" 'Singers Nähmaschine ist die beste' (1966), as it seemed that the compendious personal concern could only be executed by myself (abruptly) - and I was therefore not in a position to make my works public. It is therefore pointless to look into single pieces in detail. Most of them are no longer available. Lost, discarded, ilegible.
